Zhora is a beautiful young lab/retriever mix with a silky, velvety coat. She is a fairly petite girl at around 50 pounds, and is about 9 months old. She is housebroken and has very good house manners. She knows many commands (she has the best "down" her foster mom has ever seen) and is very obedient to her foster family. Zhora had been crate trained in her previous home, but she has proven to be trustworthy sleeping in the big bed with her foster mom and dad at night. She is very content being crated with a nylabone during the day.
Zhora absolutely loves playing with the other young dogs in her foster home. She also loves playing with toys and adores her daily trips to the off-leash dog park. She loves the water and has learned that it is fine to play in the water at the park, but the price is a shower when you get home! And while that is not her favorite thing by far, she is getting much better at sitting still while being shampooed off.
Zhora's previous home reported that she showed some resource-guarding behavior around younger children. She is living with a teenage boy in her foster home, and has been fine with all of the humans and other dogs in that regard. However, since this was an issue in the past she will not be placed in a home with kids under 15. Her ideal home will be an active home with another young dog to play with, where she gets daily runs and/or trips to the dog park.
Zhora's $250 adoption fee helps All Dog Rescue continue to ensure all of our dogs have vet exams, heartworm tests, current vaccinations, and microchips; and that all dogs adopted through us are spayed or neutered. Please note that we only accept cash or checks - no credit cards.
